On December 1st, the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) published Oleoplan Nordeste’s authorization to expand its production capacity. With its new expansion, Oleoplan Nordeste regains its position as the largest producer of biodiesel in the Northeast.

In 2017, we carried out the plant’s first increase, in which the installed capacity went from 129,600 m³ to 180,000 m³ of biodiesel per year. In 2018, the unit went through a second boost, elevating the unit’s capacity to 288,000 m³. The current expansion, however, is the largest yet and it represents an increase of 62,5%, equating the capacity of the Northeast facility to the Rio Grande do Sul’s unit: 468 thousand m³ of biodiesel per year.
