The Brazilian Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuel Agency (ANP, in Portuguese) published in today’s edition of the Official Daily Gazette the authorization for the expansion of Oleoplan Nordeste’s biodiesel plant in Iraquara, Bahia. With this, it becomes the largest in the entire Northeast Region of Brazil.

By August 2017, the plant had already increased its capacity from 129.6 million liters of biodiesel per year to 180 million – an increase of 40%. Now the plant has been expanded by another 60%, reaching a productive capacity of 288 million liters per year.

With this increase, the Oleoplan Nordeste plant in Iraquara jumped 11 positions in the rank of the largest biodiesel plants in Brazil and now occupies the 8 th position. Together, Oleoplan and Oleoplan Nordeste have a biodiesel production capacity of 756 million liters per year. The Oleoplan plant in Veranópolis, Rio Grande do Sul, is the third largest in the country.
